Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered into search forms are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. This reference does not keep a copy of those search entries. If you email or otherwise contact us, we receive the content you choose to send and use it to respond or maintain the correspondence.
Automatic Log Data
Hosting services may record ordinary technical details such as an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, referring page, and time of access. The data may be reviewed in aggregate for security, uptime, audience measurement, and page improvement. Basic cookies or similar tools may support analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Site data is used to operate the reference, answer messages, diagnose errors, measure traffic, and improve the local record explanations. We do not sell a visitor list or intentionally create an individual profile from ordinary browsing information.
External Portals and Collections
Pages link to Los Angeles County Assessor and Recorder services, city records, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. A destination's privacy policy and data practices govern what a visitor submits there. Sponsored results are supplied by an outside company, not by this reference.
Who May Process Site Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs to keep the site running. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. We do not disclose a message or log simply because a public record question was asked.
Security and Retention
The site is intended to operate over an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only as long as needed for security, operations, measurement, or a legal obligation. Because there are no site accounts, this reference does not maintain a password profile for a visitor.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has sent personal information directly, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
California Data Rights
California's California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, may provide covered consumers rights to know, delete, correct, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and opt out of sale or sharing, subject to exceptions. The California Privacy Protection Agency administers the state's data-broker registry and related DROP program.
Because this reference keeps very little direct visitor data, a request usually involves checking a contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact Us page to ask for access, correction, or deletion. A request cannot remove a deed, court file, vital record, voter record, or city record held by a public custodian in La Verne or Los Angeles County; those requests must go to the office that controls the record.
Policy Changes
A revised version will be posted here with its updated wording. Continued use after the revision date indicates acceptance of the changed policy to the extent allowed by law.
